Facility and Technology FACILITY Our labs are located in the Emerging Technologies Building (ETB 2005B) and the Bright Building (HRBB 134). Technologies Eight360 - NOVA NOVA is a “virtual vehicle” - able to put you inside a realistic VR environment, but also recreate the necessary sensations to go with it. Combining the latest in immersive reality systems with a unique design allowing full 360 flips and spins, the platform delivers a more immersive and visceral experience, leading to better engagement and learning outcomes. The Boost 2 Microgravity Treadmill The Boost 2 Microgravity Treadmill is designed for athletes and physiotherapy patients, offering the ability to adjust body weight between 20-100% for enhanced performance and recovery. It features a motorized lift system, intuitive controls, and multiple gait views for clinicians and trainers, making it a versatile tool for training and rehabilitation. AMTI Force Plate Can be used for a wide range of activities, including gait, balance, and sports applications. The 40×60 cm size is ideal for accommodating average human stride lengths and can also be used in pairs for bilateral jump or balance assessments. Noraxon IMU The Ultium Motion system by Noraxon is a wearable 3D motion capture technology that provides precise kinematic measurements for various movements, even in high-velocity and high-impact conditions. Ultium Insoles The Ultium Insole SmartLead offers Ultium users an accessible solution for measuring contact detection, impact characteristics, and load distribution during dynamic activities like running and gait analysis. It provides data on static and dynamic loading asymmetry, balance, and body sway. Varjo XR-4 The Varjo XR-4 provides an unparalleled mixed reality experience, offering photorealistic visuals and the widest field of view available in any XR headset. It is integrated with NOVA and includes advanced eye-tracking technology, which is heavily utilized with our simulator. LS-DYNA LS-DYNA is a general-purpose finite element program capable of simulating complex real world problems. It is widely adopted across industries such as automobile, aerospace, construction, military, manufacturing, and bioengineering. The software’s vast array of potential applications is matched by its adaptability across various fields. In a given simulation, any combination of LS-DYNA’s features can model a wide range of physical events. Oasys LS-DYNA The Oasys LS-DYNA Environment is both versatile and tailor-made. Benefit from pre- and post-processing software designed specially to work with LS-DYNA, and turn it towards a host of different applications. SpaceTeamsPRO The Space Teams Platform for Research and Operations (PRO), developed at the Texas A&M ASTRO Lab & SimDynamX LLC, is a platform made for large scale engineering system design, integration and collaboration. It is a Virtual Reality 'Sandbox' environment designed to enable students, government and commercial entities to collaborate, design, evaluate and experience technology, to simulate and evaluate space system architectures.
